How Planète Dauphins collects, uses and protects your personal data.

Planète Dauphins attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, RGPD (GDPR), and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés).

1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to manage your booking and the customer relationship:

  • Booking data : surname, first name, email address, telephone number, date and slot of the outing, number of participants.
  • Payment data : processed directly by our secure payment provider. We do not store your banking details.
  • Browsing data : via cookies (see section 7), notably for audience measurement purposes.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Management of bookings and the customer relationship — legal basis: performance of the contract.
  • Compliance with our legal obligations (invoicing, accounting) — legal basis: legal obligation.
  • Improvement of the site and audience measurement — legal basis: your consent (cookies).
  • Information and communication where applicable, about our offers — legal basis: legitimate interest or consent.

4. Recipients of the data

Your data is intended solely for the authorised staff of Planète Dauphins and, where applicable, for our technical service providers (host, payment provider, booking tool) acting as processors (sous-traitants). We neither sell nor rent your data to third parties.

5. Retention period

  • Booking data: for the time necessary to process it, then archived for the legal retention period for accounting records (10 years).
  • Prospects (enquiries without a booking): 3 years from the last contact.
  • Cookies: see the period indicated in section 7.

6. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against any unauthorised access, loss or disclosure (secure connection, restricted access).

7. Cookies and trackers

When you visit the site, cookies and trackers may be placed on your device. As soon as you arrive, a banner lets you accept all, refuse all or choose service by service. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and you can change your choice at any time using the icon at the bottom left of every page. Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which you will be asked again.

Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)

  • Consent management (tarteaucitron): remember your cookie choices — 6 months.
  • Booking and cart (WooCommerce): run the cart and checkout — session, 48 hours at most.
  • Language (WPML): display the site in your chosen language — 24 hours.
  • Secure payment (Stripe): secure payment and prevent fraud — up to 1 year.

Cookies subject to your consent

  • Google Analytics: audience measurement (pages viewed, where visitors come from, bookings made) — 13 months.
  • Google Ads: measuring the effectiveness of our ads, to know whether a booking follows a click on an ad — 90 days.

Google consent mode. Until you accept, or if you refuse, no Google cookie is placed. Google may however receive technical signals without cookies (for example: a page was viewed, a booking was made), which do not identify you and are used to produce aggregated and estimated statistics.

8. Your rights

In accordance with the RGPD (GDPR), you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability of your data, as well as the right to set directives concerning how your data should be handled after your death. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, CNIL): www.cnil.fr.

No data protection officer (DPO) has been appointed: for any question relating to your data, you may contact us directly using the contact details above.

9. Amendments

This policy may be updated at any time to reflect legal or technical developments. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
